I am doing one for Takeru here, but I decided to do one for Hiro too. So my project is this. I am going to go through Clone Baby & find key moments of Hiro's characterization & then cut them out, upload them to dailymotion & link them here. This will be an on-going project, which means I will every now & the come back to this post & edit it to add more. Since there are no hardsubs, I'll be writing the dialogues down.

Hiro: Having you die will help me out.
Masamune: Who are you? What do you want? Go away? Don't come near me! I want to . . . die already
Hiro: die already. "I've had enough of my life! Ah, I would change it all if I could!" Isn't that what you want to say? It's easy to say those words. But you honestly don't have the courage to kill yourself.
Masamune: I really do want to die.
Hiro: Having you die will help me out. Right . . . hurry up. There has only been one chair prepared for this game of musical chairs.
Masamune: What does that mean?
Hiro: Let me help.

Hiro: Shall I swap with you?
Masamune: You
Hiro: Shall I swap with you?
Masamune: Huh?
Hiro: You've been bullied, right. And it's gotten pretty bad. When did it start? From high school?
Masamune: Before that
Hiro: How uncool. You've been bullied? What do you think the reason was? They could have chosen anyone to bully. It didn't need to have been you. If you don't like it, you could vanish from this world. So you'd have to swap with someone else
Masamune: So swap with me! Anyone would swap with someoen else if that was a way out of this crappy life. Right! So swap with me!
Hiro: The deal has been made.

Masamune: I should have died after that fall, but I'm still alive. I'm sure Marika saved me. That's why this time it's my time to save Marika. That's why I was kept alive!
Hiro: Why are you suddenly so into being alive? The reality won't change. Have you forgotten? You died. You chose to die. Right? It was you who asked me to swap with you. You were the one who said you didn't need this chair.

Hiro: Think back carefully. Who was it that saved you when you were about to be killed?
Marika: It was Masamune
Hiro: No.
Marika: It was Masamune
Masamune: Marika . . .
Marika: Eh? It wasn't you, Masamune?
Hiro: The person who saved you . . . was me.
Marika: Stop it! . . . what I saw was
Masamune: Stop it! Stop it!
Hiro: It's none of your business. The one you love isn't him.
Marika: You're wrong. It's Masamune. Masamune is special. It's strange but from the first time we met it was like we had been attracted to each other by magnets. It was just like the red string of fate.
Hiro: You're the only two who thinks it's anything special. You're the same as mice used in experiments. Anyone would have been fine. Anyone.
Marika: No! Masamune and I are connected by the red string of fate
Hiro: You really believe in the mythical red string of fate? Well, let me ask you then. Why won't you look me in the eye?
Marika: That doesn't matter
Hiro: I'm bet you've noticed it. You've been in love with me since you met me. We're just like two magnets that have been attracted to each other. The red string of fate . . . connects us two

Hiro: I thought you'd be here. It's ironic that now you've escaped to this place you ran away from.
Gota: Buzz off It's none of your business
Hiro: I came to warn you
Gota: Hm~ When did you become so admirable?
Hiro: I'm being serious. If you keep being used like this, eventually you'll ruin yourself.
Gota: Lately I've been thinking that I'm getting closer to being a god. The reason is because I've been what the guy who rehabilitates god's wishes wants. God can create creatures as he pleases, so he can also make them disappear when he wishes too. Scram. I'm not going to kill you just yet. If you turhn up again, I'll kill you.
Hiro: Let me say just one thing. Don't forget that you are also one of those creatures.

Hiro: If you're goind to die, do it now. Mate.
Gota: bastard
Hiro: It's been a long time since we've played such games. We used to often pretend to be heroes
Gota: I was the one who was always the hero
Hiro!Kid: I'm the hero
Gota!Kid: I'm a better hero than you are!
Hiro: If only it was all for pretend like it used to be. Now it's true killing of people. Is it my turn already? Aren't you a bit too quick?
Gota: This isn't a plastic sword. You'd had this planned from the start
Hiro: What do you mean?

Hiro: I told you I have no idea what you mean
Gota: I have more right than you do. I have more right to be sitting in that chair. Just how much have I dirtied my own hands in this? I can't turn back now.
Hiro: There may still be a way out of it for us
Gota: There's no time to be looking for a way out! I'm taking the shortcut.

Gota: There is only one hero. That was always my role. It was my destiny even back then. Hey, Hiro . . . do you know what my dream is?
Hiro: Why would I?
Gota: I want to drink wine
Hiro: Wine?
Gota: I want to drink with dad or my friends. If I'm the last one left alive, that dream should come true.
Hiro: Pull yourself together! You've been tricked by them.
Gota: You're the one who has been tricked. I used you as a stepping stone to get chosen by him. I bet you love wearing that necklace.
Hiro: No! I . . .
Gota: I'm not letting you be the one! I'm the one who is the hero.

[ uh not typing this kid stuff ]

Gota: I'm the hero! Please, Hiro. Die for my sake.
Hiro: Gota . . . ! Hey . . . !
Gota: I guess . . . I'm not really a hero.
Hiro: Keep still. You're wrong.
Gota: Hiro . ..
Hiro: Don't speak! You'll be fine . . . to me . . . you were the only hero.

[ kid stuff ]

Hiro: To me . . . you were the only hero.
Gota: Was I? Listen to me . . . my life . . . wasn't in vain.
Hiro: Hey . . . Gota? Don't joke with me. Hey! Aren't you a hero? You're a hero because you're strong! Aren't heroes too strong to die? Hey! Gota! Say something! Gota . . . !

Hiro: What a coincidence. I don't have the energy to stalk you today. How about staying here . . . until the rain stops?
Marika: No, thanks. You're crying?
Hiro: As if! Just leave.

Marika: Mikumo Gota was your friend?
Hiro: He'd been my friend since childhood. He didn't used to be like that. But I awoke those instincts in him. It was all my fault in the end
Marika: I . . have no idea what you're talking about at all. I don't understand but I sort of understand the feelings of losing someone special to you. I understand very well the feelings of having a hole left in your heart. I had this returned to me. It was supposed to have been a good luck charm for the university entrance tests. That's what I'd said when I gave it to him, but really it meant more than that to me. I'd waned to be always with him. Just laughing and arguing together. I'd wanted to be always with Masamune. It was just as you'd said. I'd thought it was our destiny . . . but it was only me thought that.
Hiro: It has stopped raining. You can leave now.
Marika: You're right.
Hiro: What would you do if it was real?

Hiro: Everything you planned could happen. Was it you who tried to get Gota to kill me? Did you do it to take the internal organs of Gota's corpse? Was it you who dumped his body into the ocean? You bastard! Someday I will come and kill you! I will pound you into a heap for what you did to him!

Hiro: Shall I guess what it is you're thinking about. You're thinking of that if you donate your heart, Marika may be saved. There's a much better option than that.
Masamune: Eh?
Hiro: Do you want to know it?
Masamune: This isn't the time to put on an act!
Hiro: There's something I want to ask. Can you look after Katsushika Marika for the rest of her life?
Masamune: Eh?
Hiro: Even if clones date each other, they can never get married. Do you still think you can look after her?
Masamune: I . . . love Marika. I just want to be able to protect and care for her. Even if I'm not much help . . . even if I'm far away. I still want to look after her. The only thing I wish for is that.
Hiro: Both of us have a much better option to choose.
Masamune: Is that the 'destiny' thing that you have talked about?
Hiro: Hazuki Mio. You should get the heart from her, the master clone. If Mio dies, this killing each other will end. Your instincts to kill Marika will disappear too.
Masamune: You're saying I should kill someone?
Hiro: Hazuki Mio is destined to die either way
Masamune: Don't be stupid. If I did that, I'd be just like the rest of them!
Hiro: Then it's okay for Marika to just die like this? Mio is being hidden in a certain building by a certain company. This is the address and card key
Masamune: I haven't even said I'd go there.
Hiro: You have two choices. You could just sit back and watch Marika die like this. Or you could help her.

Hiro: You seem to have made a decision. Get in touch with me when you have her heart. The time limit is 12 o'clock. If that time passes, I'll take another course of action.
Masamune: Why are you trying to make me go to where Hazuki Mio is?
Hiro: I have two wishes. One is to kill the master clone. And there is anothe one. To get the guy behind the clone plan. I'm going to tear him to shreds. If you go, both of those wishes will come true.
Masamune: what do you mean
Hiro: you'll understand when you get there

Hiro: I guess the time is up.
Marika: This is
Hiro: That good luck bracelet has your feelings tied to it.
Marika: I always wanted to be with Masamune
Hiro: So I couldn't let go of it. When you get better, you should tie it on Aoyagi Masamune's wrist again.
Marika: Get better
Hiro: You need a heart from a blood relative. I have such a heart. Anyhow, I'm almost dead myself too. Isn't that funny. The one who doesn't have the red string of fate is actually me.

Marika: Hiro
Hiro: This is the charm bracelet that you had made, Marika. He searched so hard to find it. That weak guy was so determined to find it. It was like a thread of fate that couldn't be cut. He had tried so hard. I was envious of that. His famioly were all so lovely. He had people who all cared about him. I wished for all of that. Masamune is still battling for your sake right now, Marika.
Marika: Masamune is?
Hiro: Please accept my heart. Please live the life . . . that I won't be able to. Marika . . .

Marika: You're supposed to be dead.
Hiro: In this game of musical chairs . . . there is only one chair prepared.
Masamune: You're Kikuchi Hiro
